Robot

Our robot this year is named Steve Hundo and he is an easy and efficient remote-controlled machine.

Steve is a very easy yet efficient design. Our engine, which is the brain of our robot is located on the top. On the anterior of the robot is a pan-like slope used in effectively executing our plan, which is to rally up and corral the pigs. From this point we will then use the claw, located on the posterior, to turn the water valve for one-hundred points. The claw is controlled using a separate motor. If another team happens to drop corn into the arena then the pan will also provide feed for the pigs. In addition to this, we have added velcro tape to the wheels to allow for more traction, which also enables Steve to turn and function much more efficiently than without it. To practice the execution of the plan we have created a mock-course, recycling materials used in last years competition to mimic the pigs. Everything on our robot is controlled through the use of a re-programmed Vex controller using the program language C.
